Stepping Off The Track

CO, NYC, Chicago, Dominica, Fl, Vermont and NOW staying put for awhile in LA!
We have 2 boys, who are homeschooled, and like all parents we want to support any passions we see arise. Well, they both have a passion to perform. Our older son Keean, on a crazy whim auditioned and got a role in the Broadway Musical "Billy Elliot"! So we sold almost everything (house included) and left our fantastic 15yrs in Colorado and headed to the BIG APPLE! We have been on the move ever since and consider ourselves an everyday family embracing life the best we know how. We tend to do things a little against the grain, but learning all we can along the way! Here's to sticking together as a family and creating an amazing adventure along the way!

My Mother's Day AWAY!

On Mother's Day, I was in Fl. helping my brother move after diverticulitis surgery. We were, of course, all worried during the surgery and knew the recovery was quite long and painful.   Yet the timing of his move could not be avoided. My mom who is in a wheelchair and has her own challenges was there and doing everything from cleaning furniture to packing nik naks.  She was an absolute trooper. Although it makes me sad to see her to continue to worsen,  I admire her strength and tenacity to not quit and continue to persevere! My Dad and I were the designated box packers and movers, and amazingly my brother was able to get around and help, too.
Even though I was not with my boys and Mark, I spent the 1st Mother's Day in a long time with MY mom. I was in Fl for 13 days, and although it was a lot of work and stress, it was a true blessing in disguise. I can't remember the last time just the four of us were together. It was great quality time. Also, I got to see my boys go out of their way to wish me a Happy Mother's Day from afar. Cade, all by himself went online and ordered roses and had them sent exactly on Mother's Day, and Keean sent an adorable email card with a lovely note attached. Not to mention, my wonderful husband took on all my duties and of course went above and beyond any expectations! I am always saying that when we see life as being stressful and hard(which it can be) if we take a second to dig deeper, look on the positive side we can find some goodness in it all!
