Stepping Off The Track

CO, NYC, Chicago, Dominica, Fl, Vermont and NOW staying put for awhile in LA!
We have 2 boys, who are homeschooled, and like all parents we want to support any passions we see arise. Well, they both have a passion to perform. Our older son Keean, on a crazy whim auditioned and got a role in the Broadway Musical "Billy Elliot"! So we sold almost everything (house included) and left our fantastic 15yrs in Colorado and headed to the BIG APPLE! We have been on the move ever since and consider ourselves an everyday family embracing life the best we know how. We tend to do things a little against the grain, but learning all we can along the way! Here's to sticking together as a family and creating an amazing adventure along the way!

SO VERY PROUD!!!!

FINAL GOODBYE!
After 2 and half years living in the city, we are once again packing up and moving on! Keean's last show with Billy Elliot was both tearful and joyful! What an absolute adventure it has been for us all.  Keean, having the opportunity to be in Billy Elliot, learning the ends and out of the professional side of performing, finding new passions(guitar) and continuing training in the old passions(dance), making lasting friendships with kids and adults, and becoming incredibly independent and mature along the way. Cade, learning city life, making new friends, auditioning for jobs, booking jobs, navigating around the city on his own, taking up different activities from Samurai sword fighting, ballet, to Triathlons and football, becoming incredibly independent, cooking your own meals, and even shopping for our groceries. Dad, having the time to spend with us on a daily basis, interviewing for many different jobs, coping with being unemployed yet making the best of it, continuing to train for triathlons, and basically soaking in all city life has to offer.  I have learned more about homeschooling, even though it may be difficult at times, it is the best decision I have ever made, realizing that there is more to learning than just school books and worksheets, loving ALL the cities have had to offer, having time to think and be on my own, continue to love training for triathlons and do my yoga, enjoy my family on a daily basis and meet some incredible people along the way.  We have moved from our 2000 sq ft home with 3 bathrooms in Co to tiny apartments in the city with one bathroom.  Learned to live without creature comforts like cars, dishwashers, washer and dryers and backyards.  All in all simply the best adventure ever!  Thank you Keean for this wonderful opportunity for us all....and thank you family for being so incredibly adaptable along the way!  Now.....what next??????? hee hee
